Our immersive workshop, “Connecting Communities: The Break The Divide Approach to Climate Emotions,” offers a deep dive into understanding climate emotions, building community resilience, and empowering participants to take tangible steps toward climate action. This workshop guides participants through a journey to grasp the concept of environmental identity – a sense of connection to the natural environment based on history, emotional attachment, and similarity that affects the way we perceive and act towards the world. Through personal experiences with the environment and climate change globally and within Canada, attendees gain insights into their relationship with these issues.

The workshop also introduces Break The Divide and its mission to support youth in navigating climate emotions and initiating community-based climate action. Through a blend of discussions and engaging activities, participants explore the Break The Divide model of apathy to empathy to action.
