The Prairie Climate Education and Resilience Program
Calling all educators!!
Break The Divide is thrilled to be launching the Prairie Climate Education and Resilience Program. This free 2-session program is designed for grades 7-12 in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba and covers topics such as climate emotions, local climate change impacts, and how to take action in your community. The program is tailored to each province’s curricular outcomes, making it a great addition to any classroom!
How does it work?
Trained volunteer facilitators will run the sessions in your classroom and we will provide all necessary materials and learning resources.

Understand Local Climate Change and Climate Emotions
Students will learn about climate change in their local environment and be able to identify changes that they are currently experiencing. They will learn the basics of climate emotions and take part in a reflection activity.
Navigating Climate Emotions, Community Resilience, and Climate Action
Students will have the opportunity to share the climate emotions that they experience through art-based interactive activities as they learn about their environmental identity. Students will also learn how they can take action in their communities and that all change matters, whether big or small.
