Transforming
Eco-Anxiety into Agency
The Climate Emotions Connection Program (CECP) is a trauma-informed, grant-funded initiative that equips high school students with the emotional literacy tools needed to navigate the climate crisis.
The Eco-Anxiety Gap
Approximately 72% of youth across Canada report significant anxiety about the future of our planet. Despite this, only 34% of educators feel they have the training to teach climate change effectively.
Connection is the crucial element of climate action.
Our Theory of Change
We move students through a structured journey from isolation to collective resilience:
- ◆ Identify Environmental Identity
- ◆ Map Climate Emotions
- ◆ Move toward Collective Action
The 7-Session Framework
Session 01-02
Environmental Identity
Exploring how our local community and natural landscape shape who we are and how we view the crisis.
Session 03-05
Navigating Emotions
Learning terminology like solastalgia and eco-rage to process feelings through art and dialogue.
Session 06-07
Climate Action
Transitioning from empathy to concrete local stewardship and community-led initiatives.
Proven Results
“I teach a psychology class and for the first time, students were able to recognize and identify emotions that go hand-in-hand with climate change” — Teacher, 2024 Pilot.
